Dr. Laura Lambe works with children, adolescents, and young adults to help address a broad range of mental health difficulties. She primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and incorporates other evidence-based treatment strategies as needed, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and family-based treatment of eating disorders (FBT, “Maudsley method” for youth eating disorders).
Dr. Lambe has experience working with young people who are experiencing difficulties in a variety of areas, including anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, generalized anxiety), depression and low mood, eating disorders (e.g., anorexia, bulimia), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, coping with stress, and perfectionism. She also has considerable experience in comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD).
Dr. Lambe completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University and received her Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed her pre-doctoral residency in pediatric clinical psychology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Ontario. Her training experiences span a variety of mental health settings (e.g., inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, school clinics, private practices) and intervention approaches (e.g., individual and group). Dr. Lambe is also currently a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. Her research interests focus on the link between young people’s relationships and their mental health, with a specific focus on bullying.
